Good start for Carlos Ramacciotti as head coach of Cusco FC: 2-1 over Universidad César Vallejo

Saturday, the 7th of March 2020, 15:00 local time (20:00 UTC), Túpac Amaru Stadium, Sicuani, Peru, the 6th round of the Peruvian Liga 1 - Apertura.
The Argentinian Carlos Ramacciotti, former head coach of Sport Huancayo in 2019, arrived on Wednesday in Cusco to replace Javier Arce as head coach of Cusco FC and only had a couple of days to prepare the match against Universidad César Vallejo, the first to be played in Sicuani this season.
The game was utterly difficult, and in the final minutes the visitors attacked with all their players but were unable to equalize.
Before that, Cusco FC seemed to have control of the game and dominated the first half. A free kick from the left side was executed by Alfredo Ramúa in the side post, the ball came back in the center of the area, from where it was pushed by Aucca out towards the edge of the area to Carranza, whose shot hit the target: 1-0 (20'). Other free kicks by Ramúa were also close to double the advantage of the home side. However, just before the break, Quinteros found Mena with a beautiful pass, and the Colombian striker was faster than the Cusco defenders and the goalkeeper Pretel and made it 1-1 (42').
Cusco FC tried to solve the game as early as possible and started very well the second half. The winning goal came quickly: Carando passed back to Ramúa, who launched Uscamayta on the right, and the youngster entered the area and finalized with a strong shot: 2-1 (53'). This was Jairo Uscamayta's first goal in the Peruvian Liga 1, in his first match in the starting squad (he daonly played twice previously, as a substitute).
After the goal, Cusco FC put all their efforts in the defence, and the visitors tried vainly to score the equalizer. More than that, the home side was quite dangerous on the counterattack, as for example Carando went one on one with the goalkeeper but could not score (66'). The biggest opportunity for César Vallejo was missed by Mena, who hit the side post after he dribbled the goalkeeper (75').
In the added time,  Ecuadorian Jairo Vélez (César Vallejo) received a second yellow card and was sent off.
Cusco: Pretel - Chávez, Vílchez, Delgado, Céspedes - Aucca (Aranda 83'), Carranza - Uscamayta (Rivera 75'), Ramúa, Boló (Guidino 88') - Carando. Head coach: Carlos Ramacciotti.
Universidad César Vallejo: Rabines - Morillo (Requena 48'), Ciucci, Ramos, Fleitas (Aquino 74'), Rodas - Quinteros, Ysique, Vélez, Flores (Manzaneda 57') - Mena. Head coach: José Guillermo del Solar.
Referee: Eduardo Chirinos.
Yellow cards: Pretel 83', Boló 87' - Vélez 60', 90'+3', Aquino 86'.
Red card: Vélez 90'+3' (for the second yellow card).
With this win, Cusco FC is temporarily out of the relegation area, reaching the 15th place in the classification, and actually equalizing their opponents, Universidad César Vallejo, as both teams now have 6 points.
In the next round, Cusco FC will play away to Carlos Stein, another team which has recently changed their head coach, while Universidad César Vallejo will play at home against FBC Melgar.
