Except for the goalkeeper Adam Mikluš and the captain Lukaš Zapotocky, as well as some of the subs, 1. FK Svidník came to Spišská Nová Ves with an entire new team and succeeded to get one point after a goalless draw. The result is good taking into account last year defeats to FK Spišská Nová Ves both away and at home. The home side should be very disappointed with this draw, especially if they really mean to fight for promotion to 2. Liga.
The game was rather balanced, both teams succeeding in blocking each other in attack. The home side had better goal-scoring opportunities, especially in the second half, but to no result. 1. FK Svidník had a well-organized game, they defended well and succeeded in keeping possession but rarely reached the opponents' box and had few chances. However, the experience of the newcomers was obvious throughout the game.
