Fixtures for the 2019-2020 Slovak 3. Liga - East have been announced, the first round is scheduled on the 27th and 28th of July

Just a couple of weeks after the end of the 2018-2019 season, the Eastern Slovakia Football Association (VsFZ, Východoslovenský Futbalový Zväz) has announced the fixtures for the upcoming 2019-2020 season, to start on the 27th of July.
16 teams will compete this year: 2 relegated from the 2. Liga, 12 remaining from the previous year in 3. Liga - East and 2 promoted from the 4. Liga. Initially, there should have been three teams relegated from 2. Liga, but FK Slavoj Trebišov (classified 13th, first below the relegation line) were reprieved from relegation because Lokomotiva Košice withdrew from the next year 2. Liga and enrolled only in the fifth division, where their youth team, Lokomotiva Košice B, played last year. As a consequence, FK Pokrok SEZ Krompachy were also saved from relegation to the 4. Liga and will compete again in the 3. Liga - East in 2019-2020.

The Eastern Slovakia Football Association announced all the fixtures for the 2019-2020 season, available here.
The first round is scheduled for the 27th and 28th of July 2019, while the second round will be played on Wednesday, the 31st of July, the only round to be played in mid-week. The 7th round, normally to be played on the 1st of September, will be played in mid-November. 17 rounds will be played in summer and autumn 2019, the last one on the 17th of November. The remaining 13 rounds will be played in spring 2020, starting from the 22nd of March 2020. The last round will take place on the 14th of June 2020.
The main contenders for promotion are 1. FC Tatran Prešov, one of the traditionally strong teams in Slovakia, which are momentarily facing a financial crisis, as well as the other relegated team, ŠK Odeva Lipany, which came back to the 3. Liga after just one year in 2. Liga, and MFK Vranov nad Topľou, which were the strongest competitor for promotion in the previous year. FK Humenné and FK NOVES Spišská Nová Ves are also considered among the favourites to a top position in this group.

1. FK Svidník starting XI at the end of 2018-2019 season

1. FK Svidník have a rather difficult start of the season, playing in the first round away to FK NOVES Spišská Nová Ves, one of the strong teams in this group. In the second round, 1. FK Svidník will play at home the local derby against MŠK Tesla Stropkov, unfortunately on Wednesday, the 31st of July. This will reduce the potentially high attendance that this game traditionally attracts. 1. FK Svidník will play away to MFK Snina in the third round.
