Fayoum SC deperately needed a win to get out of trouble, as they were dangerously approaching the bottom of the table, and they eventually got a home win, the first on home ground this season (the other two wins were away). And what a win!

The match was rather balanced in the first 30 minutes, when the two teams battled for the control of midfield, and tried to launch attacks, mainly on the sides, without creating too much danger. Then Saad Jamal, on the left wing for Fayoum, entered the box, succeeded to dribble a defender, but the second defender stopped him with a clumsy sliding tackle, which got both his feet instead of the ball (31'). The referee awarded the penalty, who was converted by El Saeed Kamal "Saeedou": 1-0 (34').

The goal unleashed the Fayoum players, who quickly increased the difference. A cross from the right side into the box came right to Mahmoud Sami, whose precise shot to the far post took by surprise both the goalkeeper and a defender: 2-0 (38').

In the second half, Naser Mallawi tried to come back in the game, but the visitors hardly created chances to the opposite goal. On the contrary, they left a wider space in their defence, and Fayoum SC players knew how to benefit from such space. Mahmoud Sami scored his second goal after a break, with a beautiful shot from the left corner of the box, into the upper far corner of the goal: 3-0 (65').

Just five minutes afterwards, Hamada Yahya had a great run on the left side, entered the box, and from a difficult angle and with a defender in front of him, he still succeeded to shoot precisely to the far post: 4-0 (70').

To give an even more accurate image of the game, one should mention that the referee refused to award two more penalties for Fayoum in the second half, although they probably should have been given.

With this result, Fayoum climbs into 10th place, while Naser Mallawi drops into 13th place. Next week, Fayoum will play the Fayoum Governorate derby against Tamya, away, while Naser Mallawi will face Al Nasr Lel Taa'den at home, in the last round of the first half of the season.
