After a "winter" break of a couple of weeks, even more for Fayoum which did not play in the last round of 2023, the first round of the second half of the season scheduled the match between newly-promoted Al Wasta and newly-relegated Fayoum. At the start of the season, in their first match, the two teams drew 0-0. This time, the more experienced Fayoum side succeeded in winning narrowly, 1-0, after a much disputed game. They also brought some new players during this break, meant to strengthen the team, and manager Saeed Sobhi knew how to combine the experience of the older players with the energy of the younger players and the newly-arrived ones, who want to demonstrate that they deserve a place in the starting eleven.
It is in fact the first win after five consecutive draws, which brought Fayoum in fifth place at the end of the first half of the season. With this win, they climb back into second place, overtaking Egypt Stars (which did not play), Tamya and El Minya (which both lost).
Fayoum controlled most of the game and had the biggest opportunities to score. The only goal of the match came in the second half, and was scored by winger Karim Rashad, who made an excellent game. After the goal, the home side tried hard to come back in the game and to equalize, but were unable to score, despite putting a lot of pressure on Fayoum defense in the last minutes.
