1. FK Svidník are sixth in the local Svidník League after the first half of the season

1. FK Svidník 2-2 (1-2) FK Topl'an Kalnište

Klučár 15', Frederik Cina 76' - Horbaj 6', J. Cauner 35'.

Sunday, 26 October 2025, 2 pm local time (1 pm UTC), Mestský futbalový Stadium, Svidník, Slovakia, the 11th round of Svidník League (7th tier).

Despite being the main favorites to win the Svidník League after they withdrew from the 4th League and were relegated to the lowest existing tier, 1. FK Svidník struggle even in this local Svidník League where they compete against teams from the nearby villages. The town is unable to have a better team than the surrounding villages, that's the conclusion after the first half of the season, and they are classified only sixth (exactly mid-table, out of 11 teams) after 10 games, of which they only won 4, drew 5 and lost one.

The home game against Topl'an Kalnište (which were leaders before the game) was not too different from the others they played against teams classified in the upper half of the table, and 1. FK Svidník had to be content with a draw, although they could have actually won the game if we look at the last 10 minutes, but they could have also lost it, if one takes into account the big opportunities the visitors had throughout the whole match.

It started pretty badly for Svidník, because the visitors scored early, by means of Damián Horbaj: 0-1 (6'). The equalizer came rather quickly, as Tomáš Klučár scored for the home side: 1-1 (15'). Topl'an Kalnište had however the upper hand for large portions of this game, and they were once again in lead after a beautiful goal scored by Jozef Cauner: 1-2 (35').

The second half was very much disputed. 1. FK Svidník tried to equalize, but their chances were few, as their game was mainly based on long passes above the opposite defense, which rarely reached the strikers, and on set pieces which seldom gave any result. On the other hand, the visitors could have increased their advantage, missing two important chances, after swift counterattacks (61' and 72').

1. FK Svidník finally found the net after a beautiful shot by Tobias Frederik Cina, which first touched the far post and then went in: 2-2 (76').

In the final minutes, both teams looked to score the winning goal, to no avail. The home side was closer to win the game, as they pushed harder. They also benefitted from two consecutive rough tackles by Jozef Cauner (Kalnište), in 87' and 89', for which he received two consecutive yellow cards, and therefore he was sent off (89'), so Svidník had the numerical advantage in stoppage time. Tobias Frederik Cina missed the biggest chance for Svidník (90'+3'), all alone with goalkeeper L'uboš Varganin, whose save was decisive for the final result of the game: 2-2.

Svidník: Janošík - Ščerba, Dáv. Hnát, Karala, Dam. Hnát, Baran, Vaškanin (Husák 53'), S. Haluška (Kamenický 90'), Klučár, Rogoš (Z. Haluška 46'), Frederik Cina. Manager: Róbert Škurla.

Kalnište: Varganin - Lechman (Kokolík 67'), Jurč, Sabolčík, Halek, Šoltys, Peržel', P. Cauner, Pankuch, Horbaj, J. Cauner. Manager: Ján Kokolík.

Referee: Ladislav Košč.

Yellow cards: Klučár 25', Frederik Cina 38', Husák 79', Dáv. Hnát 89' - Jurč 25', Šoltys 82', J. Cauner 87', 89', Varganin 90'+1'.

Red card: J. Cauner (Kalnište) 89'.

The second half of the season is scheduled in spring 2026. Until then, hopefully the Svidník team will be reinforced, as they are only 5 points away from the top of the table, and they still have some chances for promotion, despite being classified sixth.

A full-size stadium might be built for Maaraba SC

The management of Maaraba SC has made important steps towards the goal of having a full-size stadium of their own. For the moment, the club only has a smaller (six-a-side) artificial field, which is meant only for mini-football and for the training of junior and youth squads of the club, while the senior team (when it existed) had to play their ”home” games on grounds far from Maaraba.

Works are already carried out around the existing six-a-side field. Photo source: Maaraba Sport Facebook page

Maaraba Sports owns a strategic piece of land located next to Maaraba highway and to the current six-a-side field. This land covers about 11 dunams (about 11,000 square meters), of which 8-9 dunams are still undeveloped and available for investment.

The club would like to find an investor for a full-size football field (stadium), an Olympic-size swimming pool, a café and recreational facilities. The project would be implemented through an official investment contract coordinated with the Directorate of Youth and Sports, for a duration that benefits both the investor and the club. During the contract period, the investor would pay an annual fee to Maaraba Sports Club, providing stable income for the club, while the investor benefits from operating and renting out the facilities. Currently, there are no such facilities in Maaraba or in the surrounding areas, which means that the project would be highly profitable.

Such facilities, and mainly the football stadium, would transform the club completely - offering a proper training environment for the players, creating steady income, and allowing Maaraba Sports Club to compete seriously in national championships. This way, the talented youth of Maaraba will have the chance to represent their home town, instead of playing for other clubs.

In the meantime, the club has updated its crest, which now features yellow and black colours, the name Maaraba FC and the year of its establishment - 2000.

We certainly hope that an investor is found and the project will be implemented as soon as possible, while in the meantime Maaraba SC (or FC) should return to senior football competitions, to have another important reason for the building of a stadium in Maaraba.

Total Soccer knocked out by Sócrates Valencia in the third stage of Colombian Primera C after penalty shoot-outs

Total Soccer 1-3 (0-0) Sócrates Valencia

J. Osorio 47' - D. Valencia 50', 80', Rivas 59'.

In the first leg, Total Soccer won 2-0. Aggregate score: 3-3.

Penalty shoot-outs: Total Soccer 2-4 Sócrates Valencia. S. Osorio and E. García converted for Total Soccer, Murillo, Agualimpia, J. Díaz and Tilve converted for Sócrates Valencia.

Sunday, 19 October 2025, 3 pm local time (8 pm UTC), Carlos Alberto Bernal Stadium, La Ceja, Antioquia, Colombia, 3rd stage of Colombian Primera C, 2nd leg.

Total Soccer had a good campaign in the Colombian Primera C so far, especially compared to last year, when they dropped out even from the first (group) stage. This year, the 2022 and 2023 Primera C champions managed to classify third in their group (Group B), two points behind Dimelojara and Sol de Oriente and six points ahead of Medellín City FC, to grasp the last seat leading to the second stage, which was already a knock-out stage, where they met Los Robles of Río Quito (Chocó). Total Soccer won both games, 4-1 at home and 3-1 away, qualifying for the third stage with 7-2 on aggregate.

In the third round, the opponents were Sócrates Valencia of Pereira. Everything went smoothly in the first game, away, in Pereira, where Total Soccer won 2-0 and they were big favorites to qualify for the fourth stage.

However, the second leg in La Ceja proved to be much more difficult than expected and the visitors surprisingly turned the game in their favour, winning also in the penalty shoot-outs.

The surprise was so great also because nothing seemed to happen in the first half, when both teams played mostly in midfield, with very few goal opportunities. Sócrates Valencia were indeed the team which tried harder to get to the opposite goal, and had better ball possession, but their actions did not look dangerous at all. On the other hand, Total Soccer responded mainly on counterattacks, and they had some set pieces (especially corner kicks) which triggered their best chances.

Actually, the second half started exactly like this. Total Soccer had a corner kick from the left side, and J. Osorio headed the ball in from short range: 1-0 (47'). It was 3-0 on aggregate and it looked like nothing could ever happen to prevent Total Soccer from qualifying to the next round.

Nevertheless, just three minutes after the first goal, Sócrates Valencia equalized: D. Valencia tried a shot from long distance and caught goalkeeper Correa by surprise: 1-1 (50').

The equalizer boosted the morale of the visitors, which launched a series of offensive actions, while Total Soccer once again retreated in a defensive mood, which proved fatal. After a corner kick from the right side, Rivas headed in from the far post: 1-2 (59'), and the match was very much alive.

It was only on this point that Total Soccer tried to gain control of the midfield once again, and to put some pressure on the opposite defence. They almost equalized by means of an own goal, when one of Sócrates Valencia defenders headed the ball towards goalkeeper Pamplona, who slipped, but eventually succeeded to touch the ball and avoid the own goal (66'). At the other end, one of Total Soccer defenders had to clear the ball from goal line after a shot which passed the goalkeeper (69').

The visitors forced a third goal, leaving large spaces behind, but Total Soccer did not take any profit out of this situation. Quite the contrary, the risks assumed by Sócrates Valencia eventually paid off, when one of the many balls sent more or less carefully in the opposite box was controlled by D. Valencia from among the central defenders, and then the same player found the space to send it home: 1-3 (80').

In the final minutes, not much football was played, because the visitors focused on wasting time as much as possible, fragmenting the game, while Total Soccer tried in vain to approach the opponents goal dangerously.

It all came up to the penalty shoot-outs, where the first three players of Sócrates Valencia, captain Murillo, Agualimpia and J. Díaz, all converted the penalties, while the first two players of Total Soccer, J. García and Romero missed, so the score was at a certain moment 3-0, very difficult to turn back from that. The third Total Soccer player, S. Osorio, scored: 3-1. The fourth Sócrates Valencia player to take the penalty, Rivas missed, maintaining the suspense, and the tension rose after E. García converted for Total Soccer: 3-2 before the final series. However, the last Sócrates Valencia player nominated to take the penalty, Tilve, scored, and the penalty shoot-outs ended with the score of 4-2 for Sócrates Valencia, as there was no need for the fifth player of Total Soccer to take the last penalty in the series.

This is how the story of Total Soccer in the 2025 Colombian Primera C ended, a rather surprising and not happy at all ending. The team is still involved in the local Primera B of Antioquia, where they were relegated last year.

Total Soccer: Correa -  Palacios, J. García, J. Osorio, Yepes, Urrego, Romero, Vélez, Gómez, Murillo, S. Osorio. Lemus, E. García and Trujillo were subbed in the second half.

Sócrates Valencia: Pamplona - Martínez, Lucumí, Gallego, Murillo, Ibargüen, Agualimpia, Perea, Rivas, Mosquera, D. Valencia. Cardona, Ariza, J. Díaz and Tilve were subbed in the second half.

Referee: Juan Benítez.

Yellow cards: Urrego 50' - Ibargüen 39', Gallego 39', Rivas 53', Juan 61', Mosquera 68', Tilve 90'+4'.

Red card: Giraldo 69' (Sócrates Valencia reserve goalkeeper who was on the bench).

In the fourth round, Sócrates Valencia will face Atlético Becerril (César), playing the first leg away.

Bourj FC won their first game this season, Tadamon Sour lost for the first time this season

Bourj FC 3-1 Tadamon Sour

Ahmad Hijazi 1', Hadar Khreiss 40' penalty, Hassan Hazimeh 70' - Gildo Vilanculos 26'.

Sunday, 5 October 2025, 3 pm local time (12 noon UTC), Amin Abdelnour Stadium, Bhamdoun (Aley), Lebanon, 3rd round of the Lebanese Premier League.

After a severe defeat and a goalless draw, Bourj FC needed badly a good result, and they played the best they could against Tadamon Sour to get all the points, which they eventually succeeded, not as easily as it seems at first sight. The visitors had a good reply and, at times, seemed in control of the game.

Bourj FC did not score in the first two games of the season, but did so within the first minute of this game. Haidar Khreiss had a good action on the left side, crossed in the box, and Ahmad Hijazi headed in from the far post: 1-0 (1'). The game actually started at 1-0. In the next minutes, Ahmad Hijazi had a chance to make it 2-0, but goalkeeper Mohamed Bechara denied it.

Nevertheless, the visitors soon started to build up dangerous offensive actions, especially on the right side, where Gildo Vilanculos created chaos in Bourj defense. The equalizer came, however, from the other side: Hassan Bazzi had a good run, crossed in the box, slightly backwards, Abodulaye Fall missed the ball, and Gildo Vilanculos was there to convert: 1-1 (26').

Just a few minutes later, Tadamon Sour was very close to take the lead, but Pedrinho's header from short range went wide (31'). Bourj FC tried to come back into the game, and launched new attacks. Sajed Amhaz passed from the right side to Ahmad Hijazi in the box, but Bilal Najdi tried to impede this, tackling Ahmad Hijazi in the process (37'). It took VAR a couple of minutes to assess the action and to finally agree with the referee that this was a penalty. Haidar Khreiss converted and brought Bourj FC in the lead once again: 2-1 (40').

In the second half, Tadamon Sour tried again to equalize, but paradoxically their actions were not as dangerous as in the first half. Bourj FC showed determination and maintained their physical vigor intact throughout the second half, careful not to lose control again. Gildo Vilanculos, Tadamon's best player in the first half, slowly faded away, while Bourj FC pushed the game towards the opponents' box. After a corner, Haidar Khreiss crossed and Hassan Hazimeh headed at the far post, the ball hitting the woodwork before getting in: 3-1 (70').

The match was pretty much over ar this score, especially because Tadamon Sour seemed unable to create any sort of threat. In stoppage time, sub Daniel Abou Fakher's shot hit the crossbar (90'+3'), not long before the final whistle which triggered the celebration of Bourj FC players and staff, after their first win this season, which moved them up in the table to a much desired sixth place.

Bourj: Ali Hajj Hassan - Sajed Amhaz, Hassan Hazimeh, Mohamad Choumer, Mohamad Hammoud (Ibrahim Mhana 87') - Youssef Atriss (Yasser Dimachek 90'+3'), Abdoulaye Fall (Ibrahim Hammoudi 87') - Ahmad Hijazi, Haidar Khreiss (Daniel Abou Fakher 87'), Mouhamed Soumah (Kassem Al Shoum 76') - Adama Diaw. Manager: Ahmed Atwi.

Tadamon: Mohamad Bechara - Jawad Kawtharani (Karim Mansour 61'), Ichaka Diarra, Hadi Madi, Ali Fahs - Mohamad Ghamlouch, Bilal Najdi (Mohamad Dbouk 61') - Gildo Vilanculos, Pedrinho (Ali El Hourani 46'), Zaher Al Samahi (Karim Kassem 61') - Hassan Bazzi.

Referee: Wael Haidar.

Yellow cards: Mouhamed Soumah 34', Mohamad Hammoud 50'.

After a short break caused by the matches of national teams, the Lebanese Premier League will resume the next week-end, when Bourj FC will play away at Nejmeh, one of the usual favorites to win the title.

Maardu Linnameeskond II FC Starmedia reached nine consecutive wins, but are only third with three rounds to go

Maardu Linnameeskond II FC Starmedia 4-1 Lasnamäe FC Ajax

Mištšenko 39' penalty, 83', Marašov 52', Ostrovski 72' - Raider 55' (own goal).

Saturday, 4 October 2025, 2 pm local time (11 am UTC), Infoneti Lasnamäe Stadium, Tallinn, Estonia, 23rd round of the Estonian Second League B, South-East Group.

Maardu Linnameeskond II FC Starmedia reached nine consecutive wins with this 4-1 victory over their opponents Lasnamäe FC Ajax, but this is not enough to classify on top of the group or at least among the top two, which have access to promotion or promotion play-offs to the Second League (fourth tier in Estonian football). There are still three rounds to go, but there is little hope that one or both of the teams in top two would lose points anywhere so that Maardu Linnameeskond II FC Starmedia would also have a chance for promotion.

Regarding the match itself, the score might wrongly imply that it was an easy one for Maardu Linnameeskond II FC Starmedia. The first goal came only towards the end of the first half, when Sergei Mištšenko, the goalscorer of the Second League B, converted a penalty for Maardu II FC Starmedia: 1-0 (39').

After the break, they increased their advantage by Pavel Marašov (2-0 in 52'), but Ajax stroke back due to a ball which was mistakenly deviated into his own goal by Maardu II goalkeeper, Stiven Raider: 2-1 (55').

The match remained rather tense and the result unclear until the final minutes. Artjom Ostrovski made 3-1 (72') and Sergei Mištšenko established the final score: 4-1 (83').
