On Saturday, the 10th of November, Bourj played the third consecutive difficult game at home against newly-promoted Nahda Barelias. While Bourj managed to win the previous two games by a narrow margin, 1-0, with a late goal, this time the score stayed 0-0 until the end.
The match was played at Safa Stadium in Beirut.
Bourj starting line-up: Abdul Karim Saleh - Ali Hareb, Hisham Shahimi, Bilal Nasrallah, Ali Jawad - Papy Babacar, Hussein Ibrahim Al Saouk - Abdullah Kanouti, Hassan Mallah, Samih Damaj - Wassem Abdelhady. Head coach: Mohamad Dakka.
Bourj management have accused the referees for the errors against their team, in this match (but not only). The main point was a penalty that has not been given for Bourj.
Bourj remains top of the Lebanese Second Division, one point ahead of Ahly Sidon, but there are tensions in the club, as remarked by the Lebanese media, mainly due to financial issues. It is said that even the head coach Mohamad Dakka wanted to leave but was convinced to change his mind and to stay, which is rather paradoxical for a team which is in leading position. However, the head coach was not happy with the club management inability to pay the salaries in due course.
There will be a two-week break until the next round, when Bourj will play the fourth consecutive game at home, against Shabab Al Arabi, a team that has been relegated from the Lebanese Premier League and was considered among the contenders for promotion.
