U.T. Cajamarca - Real Garcilaso 1-1 (1-0) in the 11th round of the Peruvian Clausura

On Wednesday, 31st of October, Real Garcilaso played a difficult game away against Universidad Tecnica de Cajamarca, one of the rivals for a place in the play-offs and the South-American international competitions. Most of the match was played under heavy rain which affected the quality of the lawn on Cristo el Senor Stadium in Cajamarca.
The game started very well for the home side, who scored in the 2nd minute by means of a header of Colombian player Donald Diego Millan after a cross from Junior Ponce. Universidad Tecnica de Cajamarca had the opportunity to score again, but missed a couple of chances, while Real Garcilaso gradually took control of the game.
In the second half, the visitors pressed harder and harder and eventually succeeded the equalizer in the 87th minute: Alfredo Ramua opened up on the left side for Ivan Santillan, who perfectly found Hernan Rengifo in the centre of the box, and his shot sent the ball into the net: 1-1.
The home team vigorously attacked in the remaining time but nothing else happened, despite some real good chances.
Real Garcilaso did not have several players, such as Dulanto or Arismendi, therefore the head coach Victor Reyes had to make some changes to the line-up: Ortiz - Velasquez, Canova, Kontogiannis, Cossio - Aucca, Alvarez (46 Rengifo) - Vidales (89 Archimbaud), Ramua, Santillan - Orosco (63 Landauri).
The referee was Mr. Jose Mendoza.
In the next round, Real Garcilaso will play tonight at home against Academia Cantolao.
