On Thursday, 14th of March, Fayoum SC had an easier game at home, actually at Alassiouty Sports Complex (because Fayoum Stadium is not yet ready to host official matches), against second-to-last classified Markaz Shabab Naser Mallawi, a team which no longer has chances to avoid relegation to the Third Division.
As a result, Fayoum SC were definitely more motivated to win the game and solved this issue in the first half, when they scored by means of Ahmed Abdul Baqi in the 19th minute, Karim Al Shafei in the 34th minute and Mahmoud Bakri in the 37th minute.
The home side played more relaxed in the second half and no other goals were scored, so the match ended 3-0 for Fayoum. Head coach Magdy Tolba now has some reasons to be satisfied, but the team continues to be below the relegation line, one point behind Al Nasr Lel'Taaden. The other remaining contender, El Tahrir Aswan, did not play as their match against Sohag was postponed.
There are four rounds to go and Fayoum still has some chances of survival in the Second Division, especially since the Egyptian FA has decided to reduce the number of relegated teams to four in each group.
However, their task is very difficult, especially because they will play against the first two classified, Aswan and Beni Suef, in the next two rounds.
