In the last game of the fifth round, Real Garcilaso played at "home" against Alianza Universidad de Huanuco. Actually, they could not use their home ground, as the Peruvian Football Federation prohibited the use of Inca Garcilaso de la Vega Stadium for the bad state of the field. Until the works to improve the quality of the field are over, Real Garcilaso has to play their home games at Sicuani, 128 km away from Cusco.
Their main problem, however, seems to be the absence of a head coach. Juan Reynoso left more than a week ago but no head coach has been brought until now and the team is managed for the moment by the Argentinian Ariel Paz, usually a goalkeepers' coach, and now interim coach.
The first half ended goalless with few real opportunities. In the second half, Real Garcilaso tried harder and put some pressure on the visitors. Rengifo and Carando, together in the attack, had some chances, but former Garcilaso goalkeeper, Morales, was unbeatable. The home side increased their domination in the last 20 minutes when they had one player up, as Conde was sent off for the second yellow card (70'). Down in ten, Alianza Universidad defended well and was rather lucky, as Real Garcilaso players missed every oportunity they had.
As it sometimes happens in such situations, in the added time, when Real Garcilaso attacked with almost all the players, the visitors launched a counterattack, beautifully finalized by Duran with a left-footed shot from inside the area: 0-1 (90'+1').

Real Garcilaso desperately need a manager if they want to get anything out of this season. It is probably too late to even think about winning the Clausura, as they are deep down in the classification. However, they still have a decent chance at Copa Bicentenario, in which they will play in the quarter-finals away at Academia Cantolao quite soon, on Thursday afternoon, the 5th of September, in Callao.
