Bourj FC maintain their leadership of the Lebanese Premier League after the fourth round, with a fourth win in a row. The match came after an international break, but Bourj showed the same strength in the field and overcame their opponents, Safa, which suffered their first defeat this season.

The game started quite astonishingly, as Bourj scored within the first minute: Khaled Takaji executed a corner from the left side, and Mohamad Sadek headed the ball in: 0-1 (1').

Safa replied soon after: a cross from the right side hit Mohamad Hammoud in his hand in Bourj box and the referee awarded a penalty for Safa, transformed by Habib Al-Shuwaikh: 1-1 (13').

Bourj regained the controll of the game and pushed forward. Their offensive actions eventually paid off, but the winning goal came from another set piece, also a corner, this time from the right side, executed by the same Khaled Takaji, but this time headed in from inside the box by Stephen Sarfo: 1-2 (28').

Less than one third of the game was played at the time, but all the goals were scored early. In the remaining time, Bourj had a rather cautious approach to the match, trying to close the game. Safa were unable to penetrate the Bourj defense, and most of the play was in the middle of the field, where harsh battles were fought for control over the ball.

In the second half, the match continued to be very balanced, with Safa more interested in the attack, and Bourj responding well both in defense and on the counterattack. The first shot on target from the Safa side came only in the 88th minute and was easily saved by Abdelkarim Saleh.

Bourj starting line-up: Abdelkarim Saleh - Youssef Anbar, Khodor Hallak, Richard Baffour, Mohamad Hammoud - Youssef Barakat, Hussein Ibrahim - Dennis Tetteh, Khaled Takaji, Mohamad Sadek - Stephen Sarfo. Manager: Osama Al-Sakr. In the second half, Ali Merkabaoui, Ali Chaito, Hussein Al-Outa and Shadi Skaf came in as subs for Bourj FC.

Referee: Ali Reda.
