Bourj FC continue their outstanding winning streak since the start of the 2022-2023 season, reaching victory number six, out of six games. It is also true that this time their opponents, Al Akhaa Al Ahly Aley, are bottom of the table, and in exact opposite situation, with no points whatsoever. Nevertheless, the match was not an easy one for Bourj FC.

The first half was quite disputed. Bourj FC pushed more in attack, looking for the opening goal. Akhaa's goalkeeper, Ahmed Kawar, saved a few shots, including a very strong one by Khaled Takaji (27'). Eventually, Bourj FC succeeded to break the opposite defense due to an action by Youssef Barakat on the left, who assisted Mohamad Sadek. The young winger entered the box, dribbled his opponent, and found the far corner of the net: 1-0 (38').

In the second half, Bourj FC adopted a more prudent approach, which gave Al Akhaa Al Ahly the opportunity to get closer to the goal. Ali Ibrahim wasted their biggest chance, his shot being saved by Hassan Moghnieh (55'). Bourj FC could have doubled their advantage, but Ahmed Kawar blocked Stephen Sarfo's shot, and then Dennis Tetteh sent the ball above the crossbar from an excellent position (59').

Al Akhaa Al Ahly tried their best to equalize, but they only opened up the field for Bourj FC counterattacks. In one such occasion, Khaled Takaji launched Mohamad Sadek behind the defense, goalkeeper Ahmed Kawar had to come out of the box to intercept the ball, but could only send it to Stephen Sarfo, who found the empty net from distance: 2-0 (80').

Bourj FC will have to face a much tougher test on Saturday, when they will play against Ansar, at Fouad Chehab Stadium in Jounieh, kick-off at 4:45 pm local time.
