First consistent win for Real Garcilaso, 3-0 to Ayacucho, after 5 game winless run

Real Garcilaso finally won consistently, 3-0 at home against Ayacucho, on Saturday afternoon, the 18th of May, in the 14th round of the Peruvian Liga 1 Apertura. This result comes after a negative run of 5 consecutive games, in which the Cusco team drew 4 times (twice at home and twice away) and had one defeat (away at Universidad Cesar Vallejo). Such a winless series is unusual for a team which aims at winning the title and there were serious concerns even regarding the maintenance of the coaching team, led by Juan Reynoso, especially after an unexpected 2-2 at home against Academia Cantolao.
However, this Saturday, Real Garcilaso solved the game very early. In the 5th minute, Lecaros had a run on the left and succeeded to cross in the very last moment, putting the ball right for Arismendi who came and headed it inside the net: 1-0. Just a couple of minutes later, the same Lecaros passed the ball in the center for Rengifo who striked it in: 2-0.

Real Garcilaso players are celebrating a goal against Ayacucho

At this score, the home side left the visitors to have the initiative and mainly sought the breaks. One such break led to the third goal in the beginning of the second half, when Rengifo opened up for Nunez who scored: 3-0 (in the 50th minute).
Despite chances at both ends, this result stood to the very end of the game. In 2019, it is the first win for Real Garcilaso at a higher difference than one goal. These goals were very special for the scorers: it was the first goal of the season for both Arismendi and Rengifo - and especially Rengifo, as a striker, was looking forward to a goal after 14 rounds; and it was the fourth goal for Nunez, who reimans the surprisingly sole leading goalscorer for Real Garcilaso this season, with just 4 goals.
Real Garcilaso: Ferreyra - Arismendi, Robles, Quina, Joao Ortiz - Nunez, Chahuaylla (71 Manco), Ramua (78 Archimbaud) - Lecaros, Rengifo (63 Carando), Souza. Head coach: Juan Reynoso.
Ayacucho: Rosales - Laura, Delgado, Guerra, Cruz - Mejia (46 Ardiles), T. Carranza, Nungaray, Sandoval - Preciado (64 L. Carranza), Aguirre (46 Cirilo). Head coach: Mario Viera.
Referee: Jorge Panta.
Real Garcilaso are now fourth in the Apertura table and they do not have any chances of winning the Apertura, so they must concentrate on Clausura if they still want to fight for the national title. There are however three more rounds of the Apertura and good results are critical for the aggregate table. Their next match will be on Friday, the 24th of May, away at Universidad Tecnica de Cajamarca.

FC Košice trash 1. FK Svidník 5-0 in the Slovak 3. Liga

In the 23rd round of the Slovakian 3. Liga - East Group, 1. FK Svidník took on leaders FC Košice on Sunday afternoon, the 28th of April. On a rainy day in Svidník, the atmosphere was dominated by the visitors' fans, who encouraged the leaders to yet another smashing victory in the 3. Liga, on their way to the 2. Liga.
FC Košice controlled the entire game but had some difficulties in netting the first goal, which came only in the 31st minute by means of Maksym Rizie, from inside the area, after an error of Damián Horbaj, who had mistakenly stopped the ball in front of his own goal.
In the second half, the home side tried to equalize but their offensive efforts left some wide spaces in their defense, easily speculated by the visitors, who increased their lead in the 54th minute by Richard Kacala and again in the 66th minute after a beautiful individual action by league top goalscorer Oleg Vyshnevskyi.
In the final minutes of the game, the referee granted two penalties for the visitors, both converted by the same Oleg Vyshnevskyi.
1. FK Svidník: Mikluš - Ducár (82 K. Matkobiš), Zapotocký, Nemergut, Horbaj - Losiev, Rohulskyi, Goncharevich (75 Panko), M. Matkobiš - Adrishvili, Košc. Head coach: Alojz Lehocký.

Referee: Pavol Greško.

 1. FK Svidník starting XI against FC Košice

For 1. FK Svidník, this is the fourth consecutive defeat. It is also true that they met the top four teams in the East Group of 3. Liga. This negative run might continue on Sunday, when they will play away at fifth classified, MFK Snina. Head coach Alojz Lehocký should quickly find solutions to improve the results in the final rounds of the season, as the team already dropped to ninth place in the table.
On the other hand, FC Košice seem unstoppable on their way to the 2. Liga.
