Tévez 64', Colitto 86' - Murialdo 78'

Cusco FC and Los Chankas provided a good show in terms of football after a long break caused by the matches of the national teams. In fact, Cusco FC was rather disadvantaged by the early (Thursday) schedule of this match, while two of its players were out with the national teams - Luis Ramos, for the first time with the Peruvian national team, for which he made his debut, and Rubén Ramírez for the Venezuela national team. Both players are very important for Cusco FC and they were only used in the final minutes.

In the first half, both teams had plenty of opportunities. This was rather surprising, especially because the visitors approached the goal dangerously and had a couple of good chances in front of the goal. Cusco FC replied mostly towards the end of the half, with Tevez missing the target from a good position inside the area. Cusco FC had more ball possession, but Los Chankas knew how to deter their actions, pressing high in the opposite half and creating danger by intercepting Cusco's passes.

In the second half, Los Chankas remained dangerous, but Cusco FC had most chances, especially by means of Nicolás Silva, Juan Manuel Tévez and Lucas Colitto. The goal was in the air, and eventually Iván Colman found the breakthrough pass to Tévez, who outran his opponents and scored with a beautiful shot below the goalkeeper to the far post: 1-0 (64').

Instead of consolidating their lead, Cusco FC withdrew in defensive lines, virtually inviting their opponents to attack. Los Chankas did not refuse, and launched a total offensive which was clearly meant to find an equalizer, no matter what. They needed 14 minutes to get the goal. Diego Carabaño crossed perfectly from the left side, and Allan Murialdo succeeded to send the ball home with a strange execution involving his shoulder: 1-1 (78').

Things changed again, and Cusco FC soon fortified their attack with their new Peruvian hero, Luis Ramos, who came from the bench in 84'. Two minutes later, a cross from the right side looking for him was not convincingly cleared by the defenders, Nicolás Silva missed the shot, but the ball got to Lucas Colitto, who had enough time and strong nerves to find the right shot for the winning goal: 2-1 (86').

Los Chankas did not have enough strength to equalize once again, so Cusco FC won again - this is their 12th consecutive match in which they are unbeaten. They had won 2-1 over local rivals Cienciano just before the national team break, 2-1 away at ADT Tarma, 2-1 at home over Comerciantes Unidos, a series interrupted by a 1-1 draw against Sporting Cristal at home. Next week they will play away at almost relegated Carlos A. Mannucci.

Cusco FC: Vidal - Bilbao (Olaya 84'), Guzmán, Pérez - Valenzuela, Zevallos (Ramos 84') - Silva (Ramírez 88'), Aucca (Cárdenas 70'), Colman, Colitto - Tévez (Tamariz 88'). Manager: Miguel Rondelli.

Los Chankas: Sotillo - Ruidíaz (Quintana 89'), Aguilar (López 76'), Becerra, Gamarra, Chávez (Takeuchi 89') - Mejía, Carabaño, Casquete (Robles 76'), Manzaneda - Ledesma (Murialdo 70'). Manager: César Vaioli.

Referee: Bruno Pérez.

Yellow card: Zevallos 17'.

Cusco FC advanced in second place (for the moment) in the Clausura, and with three matches to go they still have mathematical chances to get to the play off by winning the Clausura, or to get to the Copa Libertadores if they reach the fourth place overall in the aggregate table, in which they are currently in fifth place.
