Bad start for Barakat Ibrahim: Al Minya - Fayoum 4-0 in the 6th round of the Egyptian Second Division, Group A

Last Thursday, on the 13th of September, Fayoum drew 1-1 at home against Tahta and head coach Wael Al-Qabbani resigned after just five matches, in which Fayoum achieved only one win, three draws and a 1-0 defeat at Telephonat Beni Suef.
The board of directors of Fayoum SC appointed Barakat Ibrahim as the new head coach of the team but he had just a few days to get to know the players and to prepare the next match, away at Al Minya, one of the strong teams in the group and favourite for promotion to the Egyptian Premier League, alongside Aswan and Al Nasr Lel Taa'den.
On Thursday, 20th of September, Fayoum suffered a severe defeat on the Minya University Stadium as the home side Al Minya won 4-0. Ahmed Essam opened the score just before the half time, in the 40th minute, and the same player scored in the second half in two consecutive minutes, 60 and 61, achieving a personal hat-trick and a 3-0 difference for Al Minya. The final goal was scored in the last minute of the game by Omar Osman.
It is a bad start for the new head coach of Fayoum SC, Barakat Ibrahim, but he will now have time to prepare the team, as there will be almost a month until the next round in the Egyptian Second Division, scheduled for the 18th of October. In that round, Fayoum will play away again, this time to another contender, Al Nasr Lel Taa'den. In the meantime, Fayoum will host Telephonat Beni Suef in the Egyptian FA Cup.
