Fayoum continue their negative run, with a surprising 1-0 defeat away at Merkaz Shaban Abu Tig, a lower league team, in the second preliminary round of the Egypt Cup, actually the first (and last) match in this competition for Fayoum. The hosts scored the only goal from a penalty kick in the 32nd minute of the game. Fayoum had many chances, but again missed all the opportunities. Fayoum managers complained about the referee, who apparently did not give them any penalty out of several potential situations in Abu Tig box.
