The fate of 1. FK Svidník was decided in the last round. Actually, it was decided on Saturday evening, when Slovan Giraltovce won 3-0 over MFK Snina, making it impossible for 1. FK Svidník to avoid relegation, regardless of their result in the Sunday match against Slávia TU Košice. The only remaining objective was to avoid the last place, and a win was needed, but Milénium Bardejovská Nova Ves also lost at home and therefore 1. FK Svidník classified second to last. This might only count if a team withdraws before the beginning of the next season, and 1. FK Svidník would be the first chosen to replace such a team.
It is however unusual that the Eastern Slovakia Football Federation did not impose that all matches in the last round to be played simultaneously, given that relegation was still an issue. The season ended anyway after only half the matches were played.
The game was therefore played without too much enthusiasm by the host players, and Slávia TU Košice won rather easily. L'ubomir Korijkov scored the first goal for the visitors (7'), Jakub Bialončík equalized for Svidník (22'), but the visitors shattered all hopes with two goals before the break, scored by Mojmír Trebuňák (34') and Lukáš Urban (36'): 1-3 at half time.
In the second half, the same Mojmír Trebuňák made it 1-4 (49'), Michal Tokar reduced the difference soon after (51'), and Matúš Baran established the final score: 2-5 (61').

For 1. FK Svidník, this is a time to reconsider everything. There are very small chances to stay in the Third League, so normally they should enroll for the next year Fourth League - North Group (Eastern Slovakia). According to the official report of the Eastern Slovakia Football Federation, 1. FK Svidník and Milénium Bardejovská Nová Ves are relegated to the Fourth League - North Group (4. Liga - Sever).
Hopefully, this relegation should mean that the club would be stabilized financially and from all points of view. The budget for the Fourth League is lower, this might help. The local government in Svidník should help the club by all means possible.
