The Fayoum Governorate derby between Tamya and Fayoum was very much disputed, but especially in midfield. The two teams rarely approached the opposite box and there were few shots and few dangerous attacks on either side.

In the first half, Fayoum had the control of the game for most of the time, and seemed more interested to get all the points. Their attacks intensified towards the end of the first half, when they had a series of corner kicks, but nothing came out of that. Mahmoud Sami had the biggest chance, but his shot was blocked by a defender inside the box (43').

On the contrary, in the second half Tamya succeeded to balance the match and even to put some pressure on the visitors. They had a few shots, mostly missing the target, and a few crosses which looked dangerous, but the Fayoum defence did well in absorbing the pressure. The visitors had fewer attacks, and instead tried mostly on counterattacks, without reaching dangerously to the opposite goal.

Towards the end of the match, everybody looked pleased with a 0-0 draw, and the efforts focused on stopping the opponents' attacks rather than creating goal chances. Nevertheless, the surprise came during stoppage time. On a Fayoum counterattack, Ahmad Shukri was able to get into the box on the left side, to dribble a defender, and to pass the ball to the centre of the box, to Mohamed Morsi, whose shot was blocked by another defender with his hands (90'+1'). The referee pointed to the penalty spot, and El Saeed Kamal "Saeedou" became the Fayoum hero by converting the penalty: 0-1 (90'+3').

In the remaining minutes of stoppage time, Tamya desperately tried to equalize, but had no opportunity whatsoever, and Fayoum registers the second win in a row, climbing to mid-table, while Tamya are now closer to the bottom of the table.

There will be a two-week break between the last round of the first half of the season, and the first round of the second half of the season, which is scheduled at the beginning of February. Fayoum will then play away at Shoban Moslemen Qena, while Tamya will face Al Nasr Lel Taa'den at home.
