Fayoum SC loses 1-0 to El Tahrir Aswan in the Egyptian Second Division

Fayoum SC started well in 2019 with a 4-0 home victory against Al Walideya. Manager Magdy Tolba and club executives made efforts to bring in valuable players during the transfer window, such as Ibrahim Saeed, playmaker Karim Al Shafei, 25 years old from Dayrout, striker Mahmoud Abu Zeid, 22 years old, on loan from Ismaili, winger Ayman Shawki and others.

Nevertheless, Fayoum lost 1-0 the match played away at Aswan against relegation opponents El Tahrir Aswan, on Sunday, 27 January. The match was quite balanced and both teams struggled to get the winning goal, which eventually came for the host team in the 84th minute, scored by Ahmed Abdel Razak.
This result is a serious blow for Fayoum as they switched places with their opponents: El Tahrir are now 11th in the table and Fayoum 12th. Fayoum have thinner chances to escape relegation by each round that passes. More and more points are needed to get to the upper part of the table and less games are to be played.
