1. FK Svidník - FK NOVES Spisská Nová Ves 0-1 in the 21st round of the Slovakian 3. Liga - Východ (East)

On Sunday, 14 April, 1. FK Svidník played at home against a former 2. Liga team, FK NOVES Spisská Nová Ves. The two sides are classified in the middle of the table in the 3. Liga - East, but the visitors played much better and earned a well-deserved victory.
The first half was rather balanced and most of the game was played in midfield, the two teams rarely reaching the opposite goal. Things warmed up a little bit towards the end of the half, when 1. FK Svidník had their biggest chance of the game, Maksym Losiev shooting from close range into the side bar in the 38th minute. Immediately after, the visitors also missed a good scoring opportunity.
Right after the break, in the first seconds of the second half, FK NOVES Spisská Nová Ves initiated an attack on the left side which surprised the home defence, Jozef Kavulic scoring from inside the area: 0-1 (46').
1. FK Svidník had a weak second half and the visitors could have scored more goals, but they missed many opportunities. The game became even more difficult for the home side after the 70th minute, when central back Richard Nemergut saw the second yellow card and was sent off.
1. FK Svidník: Miklus - Ducár, Zapotocký, Nemergut, Jacisko - Petrik, Rohulskyi, Goncharevich (82 Gdul'a), M. Matkobis - S. Kosc, Losiev (55 Lipak). Head coach: Alojz Lehocký.
FK NOVES Spisská Nová Ves: Vilcek - Markulík (84 M. Somsák), Sedlácek, Baranyi, Kacír, Majko, L. Somsák, Kovác, Tkac, Kavulic (90 Istvánik), Hagara (90 Kamenický). Head coach: L'ubos Ontko.
Referee: Pavol Gresko.
1. FK Svidník started rather badly the spring season, obtaining just one win in four matches and scoring only just one goal in that single victory, 1-0 over Slovan Giraltovce, at home, two weeks ago. More than that, the team plays rather chaotically and at least in this game against FK NOVES Spisská Nová Ves, they were lucky to lose just 1-0. This is a matter of serious concern for the new head coach, Alojz Lehocký, who needs to better prepare the games and to find quickly the best ways to put the team back on its track.
In the other matches of the round, MFK Vranov nad Topl'ou lost surprisingly to Krompachy and the gap to leaders FC Kosice increased to 11 points, which is almost impossible to close, especially given the form and results of FC Kosice.
