Bourj FC continue their triumphal march through the Challenge Cup, as they won all matches until now. As Group B winners, they met AC Tripoli, second place in Group A, in the Challenge Cup semifinals. In the other semifinal, Salam Zgharta (second place in Group B) met Safa, Group A winners.
Bourj FC played again very well and clearly won in front of a fantastic crowd - they actually played at home, as Amin Abdelnour Stadium has been lately used as their home ground.
The match was rather balanced in the beginning of the first half. Stephen Sarfo scored the first goal for Bourj FC after a very good cross by Hamza Abboud from the right side, as the goalkeeper dropped the ball in front: 1-0 (30').
Although AC Tripoli tried to equalize in the second half, Bourj goalkeeper, Mohamed Santina, was in excellent shape.

More than that, Bourj FC increased their lead after another error of Tripoli goalkeeper, Siraj Samad, who passed the ball to Mohammed Qassem. The goalkeeper initially saved Qassem's shot, but the ball came to Stephen Sarfo, who headed it into the net: 2-0 (70'). Another Tripoli defensive error led to a further goal: the goalkeeper Siraj Samad was forced to get out of the area to reach a ball, but eventually Mohamad Jawad Abou Khalil got the opportunity for a long-range shot towards the empty net: 3-0 (81').

Bourj FC will meet Salam Zgharta in the Challenge Cup final, probably next week. Salam Zgharta defeated Safa 1-0 in the other semifinal. It is interesting to note that both teams were part of the same Group B and they played their group match on Tuesday, the 13th of August, with Bourj winning 1-0 at Fouad Chebab Stadium in Jounieh.
For Bourj FC, it is the second time they play a cup final after the 1993 success in the Lebanese FA Cup final, the greatest accomplishment in their history so far.
