Fayoum SC changed two managers in summer but are now ready for the start of the Egyptian Second Division

There was a troubled summer break for Fayoum SC, which escaped relegation to the Egyptian Third Division in the last round of the 2018-2019 Second Division. At the end of the previous season, club administrators, headed by president Ali Massoud, announced great intentions for the year to come, mentioning even the promotion to the Premier League as one of the club main goals. An increase of the club budget by more than 50% was also a target. New players were supposed to come to achieve a good performance in the next season.
However, summer was characterized by instability, at least at the level of the coaching staff. At the end of July, head coach Magdy Tolba left the team amicably. Both parties, the club directors and Magdy Tolba, announced that the decision was based on the different views they had regarding new players. The club directors brought about nine new players to train with the team but Magdy Tolba rejected such an interference, as he considered that it was his job to select new players.
As a  result, the club and Magdy Tolba parted ways, and Hussein Abdel-Latif was appointed as the new head coach at the end of July. He accepted the new players to train with the team and some of them were contracted for the new season. However, in mid-September, Hussein Abdel-Latif also left the club, as he was appointed manager of the Egyptian women national football team, a position that could not be refused.
Therefore, a new head coach was needed as the start of the competition was approaching fast. The club management eventually appointed Mohamed Mohsen Abo Gresha as the new head coach on the 22nd of September.

Mohamed Mohsen Abo Gresha, born on the 4th of August 1981, played for most of his career at Ismaily and earned 7 caps for the Egypt national football team. For a short period, he was on loan to the Chinese club Zhejiang Lucheng. In 2012 he left Ismaily and played for other clubs, before starting his coaching career as a member of the coaching staff at Ismaily.
Preparations for the new season went on, and the first round of the 2019-2020 Egyptian Second Division will start on Sunday, the 20th of October, with the matches in Group A. Fayoum will play at home against Aluminium Nag Hammâdi. The game will kick-off at 4 pm.
