After a disappointing start of the Clausura, Real Garcilaso seems to be "back in business" and continues the good series of results, with a third consecutive win, 1-0 over Deportivo Municipal, a team which is drowning slowly towards the lower end of the classification, both in the Clausura and in the overall aggregate table.
Real Garcilaso had the full control of the game in the first half but had a hard time in finding the way to the goal. There were loads of corner kicks and crosses into the area, to no result... until a cross by Lecaros from the right side was headed by Carando towards Nunez, who pushed the ball into the net from close range: 1-0 (42').

The game changed completely in the second half, as Deportivo Municipal charged, trying to equalize, and the home side launched dangerous counterattacks. Ferreyra saved a header from the centre of the area by Obregon (58'), the biggest chance of the visitors. At the other end, Nunez had a couple of decent shots, either saved or wide, but the best goal opportunity came in the 84', when Souza was only stopped by Rivadeneyra, then the ball went to Carando, whose shot struck the side post.
The visitors had again an opportunity to equalize in the final minutes: after a shot partially blocked, the ball was reached by Succar, all alone in the centre of the area, but he was unable to hit it correctly and it went wide.
Ismodes, one on one with Murillo in the area, was brought down and the referee awarded a penalty (90'+2'). However, Ramua's strong shot hit the side post and then out! In the end, the three points remained in Cusco and Real Garcilaso have reason to think more seriously about a classification allowing them to participate in the next year Copa Sudamericana.

On the other hand, Deportivo Municipal will play at home against the Clausura leaders, Universitario de Deportes. They will have a very difficult task, taking also into account that the relegation line is really closing on them.
