Sporting Cristal wins 3-0 over Real Garcilaso in the Peruvian Clausura

Sunday, the 6th of October 2019, 11:00 local time (16:00 UTC), Alberto Gallardo Stadium, Lima, Peru, the 10th round of the Peruvian Liga 1 - Clausura.
Sporting Cristal are the defending champions but they are still far from reaching the play-off this year, so they have to win every possible match in order to get a place in the play-offs. On the other hand, Real Garcilaso is almost without any objectives left for this season, as the play-offs are virtually unreachable, while the places for Copa Sudamericana are also far, and relegation seems not so scary anymore.
Sporting Cristal started very strongly and scored early in the game: a pass of Christian Ortiz found Calcaterra pretty much alone in the area, and his shot went in between the legs of the goalkeeper Ferreyra: 1-0 (11'). Real Garcilaso succeeded then to balance the game, and Carando, Souza and Ramua had some opportunities. However, it was the home side which scored again, by means of Tavara, whose shot from the edge of the area hit the target: 2-0 (30').

In the second half, Real Garcilaso tried to come back in the game. Ismodes, who replaced Souza (injured) right before half time, had some good chances, as well as Carando, and there was an excellent long range shot by Joao Ortiz, but the defense of Sporting Cristal resisted. Actually, it looked like the home side wanted more to preserve the score, but eventually they scored again in the added time: a long range shot by Lobaton was saved by Ferreyra but the ball went to Palacios who sent the ball into the net: 3-0 (90'+3').
