Sixth consecutive defeat for OFK Tryavna: 2-1 to Parva Atomna Kozloduy

Sunday, the 8th of November 2020, 2.30 pm local time (12.30 pm UTC), Angel Kanchev Stadium, Tryavna, Bulgaria, the 14th round of the Bulgarian Third League - North-West Group (Severozapadna Treta Liga).
OFK Tryavna heads straight towards relegation with this long series of defeats. Of all the matches, this one, at home, against Parva Atomna Kozloduy, was the easiest one, at least on paper. After four consecutive difficult matches, all lost, came a series of four easier matches, which started last week, with a defeat away at Akademik Svishtov. Of these four easier matches, this one was the only one to be played at home, and still, OFK Tryavna is unable to win a match or at least to draw since September.

The first half ended up goalless, 0-0, despite the fact that both teams struggled much in the field. As usual, the second half proved decisive in determining the final result. The visitors took the lead by Plamen Venelinov, who overtook one of Tryavna's full backs and scored with a precise shot: 0-1 (59').
OFK Tryavna's players had a quick reply, and Vasil Andreev finalized a long offensive action: 1-1 (65'). The final score was established after a corner, when Hristo Karlukovski headed the ball in: 1-2 (74'). OFK Tryavna made all the efforts to equalize once again, but the Kozloduy's defence resisted until the end.
The result buries even more OFK Tryavna in the relegation area: now they are six points away from the nearest team above them, and this gap is set to increase, unless something miraculous happens. On the other hand, Parva Atomna Kozloduy are looking better and almost out of trouble with this win.
Next Sunday, OFK Tryavna will play the third game in the line of easier games, away at OFK Levski 2007; there are not too many hopes for them anyway, as OFK Levski 2007 have just crushed Bdin 1923 Vidin with a 3-0 win at Vidin, in the other relegation derby. Parva Atomna Kozloduy will play at home against Spartak Pleven, the only team in top five which actually played this week-end. The other four teams were supposed to play against each other, but COVID-19 cases in Lom and Vrasta prevented the top derbies from taking place. However, Levski 2020 Lom are now sole leaders, as they won 2-0 on Wednesday their postponed match from round 2 against Lokomotiv Mezdra.
