Cusco FC won 3-1 over Ayacucho FC but they are still in relegation position

Saturday, 11 September 2021, 1:15 pm local time (6:15 pm UTC), Iván Elías Moreno Stadium, Lima (neutral ground), Peru, 10th round of the Stage 2, Peruvian First Division (Liga 1).

Cusco FC needed the three points badly to make a first step in order to avoid relegation. And they succeeded, despite the fact that Ayacucho is a good team, fighting for a place in the next year Copa Libertadores.

Cusco FC started the game very well, and scored early. Sandro Rengifo made a great run on the right, the opposite defense was unable to clear, and José Velásquez took his chance and shot at the near post: 1-0 (14'). Cusco's mission was much helped by the second yellow card received by Minzún Quina, who was therefore sent off (34').
