Fayoum - Al Nasr Lel Taa'den 1-0 in the 20th round of the Egyptian Second Division

Fayoum SC obtained the fourth win this season, 1-0 over Al Nasr Lel Taa'den, on Thursday afternoon, the 28th of February, in the 20th round of the Egyptian Second Division, Group A. These 3 points are very important for head coach Magdy Tolba and his players, to keep the hopes alive in the fight against relegation.
The visitors had a long winless run, and this was the tenth consecutive game without a win, although Al Nasr Lel Taa'den were considered as one of the strongest teams in the group at the beginning of the season, even a candidate for promotion to the Premier League, where they played two years ago.
The match was played at Al Assiouty Sports Complex, where Fayoum SC have to play their home matches while there are works in progress at Fayoum Stadium. Fayoum were in control of the game and missed many opportunities.
Karim Shafei scored the only goal of the game in the 71st minute for Fayoum, which have equaled their opponents Al Nasr Lel Taa'den, as both teams have now 21 points and are separated by goal difference only.
The third team with 21 points is El Tahrir Aswan, which succeeded the biggest surprise of the round, by winning 2-0 over leaders Aswan. This was the first game which Aswan lost this season. As second-placed Beni Suef won 1-0 at Al Walideya, the difference between Aswan and Beni Suef decreased to 8 points, but is still difficult to overcome in the six remaining games of the season.
The situation is more complicated in the relegation area, where seven teams (including Fayoum) fight to avoid relegation.

First win for Real Garcilaso in the Peruvian Apertura

After a disappointing 2-1 defeat away at newly-promoted Molinos El Pirata FC in the first round, Real Garcilaso played at home in Cusco against Universidad de San Martin de Porres on Monday afternoon.
Head coach Hector Tapia left the usual captain Alfredo Ramua on the bench. Real Garcilaso played with: Farro - Arismendi, Robles, Dulanto, Cossio - Miguez, Archimbaud - Souza, Manco (76 Lecaros), Nunez (67 Rengifo) - Carando (66 Ramua).
Universidad de San Martin: Penny - Salas, Portales, Lujan, Huerto - Oliva, Afolabi (32 F. Espinoza), Guivin - Palacios (56 R. Espinoza), Olivera, Bolivar (46 Mora). Head coach: Carlos Bustos.
The first half was clearly dominated by Real Garcilaso, which scored early, in the 14th minute: after Souza's cross from the right side, goalkeeper Penny deflected the ball mistakenly in front and Miguez had a strong shot from outside the box: 1-0. The home side had other opportunities but scoreboard did not change before half time.
In the second half, the visitors also had a couple of chances, but Real Garcilaso managed to score again in the 68th minute, by Archimbaud, after a corner from the left by Ramua, who had just entered the field: 2-0. It looked like everything was settled, but the visitors succeeded to score in the 80th minute, with a great shot from distance by Olivera: 2-1.
So the final minutes were rather tense. Referee Joel Alarcon took the harsh decision to send off Portales for a rather normal foul on Ramua in the 83rd minute, which really put gas on fire for the visitors, who started protesting. Goalkeeper Penny was also sent off for protests. Field player Espinoza had to play as a goalkeeper for the last minutes and he did a great job, saving a couple of difficult shots from Real Garcilaso strikers.
The final score was 2-1 for Real Garcilaso but the supporters were quite unhappy with the team overall performance, despite the win. Head coach Hector Tapia needs other good results in short time to make up for a disastrous start of the season.
Other results in the second round:
UT Cajamarca - Carlos Manucci 0-0
Universitario de Deportes - Molinos El Pirata 2-1
Universidad Cesar Vallejo - Sport Huancayo 2-2
Ayacucho - Melgar 1-1
Academia Cantolao - Deportivo Binacional 0-4
Sport Boys - Union Comercio 0-1
Deportivo Municipal - Alianza Universidad Huanuco 0-0
Sporting Cristal - Alianza Lima 1-0

Deportivo Binacional and Sporting Cristal lead with 6 points each. Real Garcilaso is seventh with 3 points. In the next round, Real Garcilaso will play away at Carlos Manucci in Trujillo on Saturday evening.
