On Thursday, 7 February 2019, Fayoum SC played at "home", at Alassiouty Sports Complex, against Telephonat Beni Suef, one of the teams which is in the upper part of the classification in the Egyptian Second Division, Group A. Fayoum has a negative record against Telephonat this season, as they lost the match in Beni Suef in round 4 in September 2018, and were eliminated by the same team in the Egyptian FA Cup, losing at penalties on their own ground.
The game was prepared seriously by both teams, as shown in a preview broadcasted on YouTube by Sports Weladelbalad.

Despite the transfers made during the January window, which were meant to strengthen mainly the attack, Fayoum was unable to break the deadlock and the match finished 0-0. Manager Magdy Tolba still has a lot of work to do. Unfortunately there is less and less time until the end of the season and relegation is closer by each game.
After this draw, Fayoum remains in 12th position (out of 14 teams) and has 16 points earned in 17 matches.
In the upper part of the table, Aswan now have 7 points more than Beni Suef, the second classified, and become big favorites for promotion to the Egyptian Premier League. The first five classified have also distanced themselves from the rest of the teams.
