Fayoum SC - El Badari 1-1 (1-0)
Alaa Metwally 5' - Hisham Talaat 51'.
Saturday, 4 December 2021, 2:30 pm local time (12:30 pm UTC), Alassiouty Sport Resort, Fayoum, Egypt, the 9th round of the Egyptian Second Division, Group A.
Fayoum SC, in very good shape since the arrival of the new manager Sayed Sobhi, started as favourites their home match against newly-promoted El Badari, which started the season well, but have recently had a negative string of results.
The beginning of the match seemed to confirm this view, as Fayoum scored very early by means of their striker, Alaa Metwally: 1-0 (5'). Nevertheless, this early advantage proved to be insufficient, providing too much confidence for the home side, which did not push enough for a second goal.
As it sometimes happen in football, the visitors did not relent, they tried to come back in the game, and soon after the break they succeeded to score the equalizer by means of Hisham Talaat: 1-1 (51').
This time, Fayoum SC players did have a reaction and clearly dominated the remaining minutes of the second half, but the visitors were well-organized and defended vigorously, and the despite the ever increasing pressure, from the home side, the match ended 1-1.
A win would have gave Fayoum the chance to climb on the fourth place, instead they remain in seventh position. El Badari are right above the relegation line, in the dangerous part of the table.
