OFK Tryavna started the season with a 5-2 win over Sportist Petko Slaveykov in the Gabrovo League

Sunday, 19 September 2021, 4:30 pm local time (1:30 pm UTC), Sportist Stadium, Petko Slaveykov, Bulgaria, first round of the Gabrovo League.

OFK Tryavna, just relegated from the Bulgarian Third League, started the 2021-2022 season of the local Gabrovo League with an expected win, 5-2 away at Sportist Petko Slaveykov.

The match was not as simple as first thought. Georgi Pavlov scored the first goal for the visitors, but the home side equalized by penalty and the score at half time was 1-1.

It was only in the second half that OFK Tryavna took total control of the game and were able to score more goals. Vasil Andreev made it 2-1, Aleksandar Damyanov scored from penalty for 3-1, then both Vasil Andreev and Georgi Pavlov scored their second goals of the day, to make it 5-1. The home side also succeeded the score before the end of the match, so the final score was 5-2.

Referee: Tihomir Papazov.

Plamen Todorov is the new manager of OFK Tryavna and the objective of the club is to win the Gabrovo League and the potential promotion play-offs in order to return as soon as possible to the Bulgarian Third League.

In the next round, OFK Tryavna will face Yunak 2006 Kormyansko at ”Angel Kanchev” Stadium in Tryavna.
