MŠK Novohrad Lučenec - 1. FK Svidník 1-1 (1-0)
Daško 29' - Hirka 90'+2'.
Saturday, 11 March 2023, 2 pm local time (1 pm UTC), Štadion v Parku, Lučenec, Slovakia, 17th round of the Slovak Third League, East Group (3. Liga Východ).
The second half of the season did not start too well for 1. FK Svidník, which lost 2-0 at home their first match in spring to one of the contenders for promotion, Odeva Lipany. They had the opportunity to gain back a point (or three) on the road, at Lučenec, where the local team seems to have lost some of its strength.

Quite surprisingly, the visitors took control of the game early on and had several excellent opportunities to take the lead. After a corner from the right side, Norbert Grejták headed spectacularly, but was denied by goalkeeper Jenčo (13').

Then, L'ubomír Ivanko Macej had had a couple of good chances for 1. FK Svidník, before the hosts found the way to the goal, on their first dangerous approach to the opposite goal. Lichý had a long throw from the left to the centre of the box, Tóth controlled and passed to Daško, unmarked to the right, and the latter's shot went in: 1-0 (29').

Strangely enough, the goal did not trigger the expected response from 1. FK Svidník, and the game was more balanced at the end of the first half.
Nevertheless, the second half started wildly, with many occasions for both teams. Novohrad Lučenec could have increased their lead, but Svidník goalkeeper Ivan Tiurin made some remarkable saves, denying Igor Kotora (51') and then Rihárd Illés, whose shot went however passed the goalkeeper, and was blocked by Timotej Magul'ak on the goal line (52').

However, the home side attacks came to an end, and the rest of the second half clearly belonged to the visitors, which were looking for an equalizer. Novohrad Lučenec tried to give a good reply on counterattacks, but had fewer chances than their opponents.
Once again, L'ubomír Ivanko Macej was the most dangerous forward for 1. FK Svidník, and one of his shots hit the side post (58'), while on other occasions he was blocked by either the defenders or the goalkeeper.

The intensity of 1. FK Svidník attacks increased towards the end of the game. They also had many free kicks from just outside the box, but failed to score from either of them... until stoppage time. Then, Kristián Hirka managed to find the right execution and, with a small deflection, to equalize: 1-1 (90'+2').
