FK Tryavna 1922 are champions of the 2022-2023 Gabrovo Regional League and promote to the Bulgarian Third League

The Gabrovo Regional League eventually ended on 10 June 2023 with a postponed match from round 11, in which Planinets Kravenik won 2-0 away at Angel Kanchev Tryavna. However, this result had no impact on the final table of the Gabrovo Regional League, which was largely established after the last round, that took place last Sunday, on 4 June 2023.

FK Tryavna 1922 are the champions of the 2022-2023 Gabrovo Regional League, and this is actually no news, since their lead was established from the start of the competition and they finished 12 points ahead of the second classified, Balkan Plachkovtsi. In the second half of the season, FK Tryavna 1922 won all the matches, and they ended the season in great style, with a 3-0 win over Dan Kolov Sennik in the last round, on 4 June 2023.

In case that two or more teams are equal on points, the main ranking criteria are the results of the head-to-head matches.

Of course, FK Tryavna 1922 are looking forward to promoting to the Bulgarian Third League, North-West Group. This year, there are 2 places available for promotion, and out of the seven winners of regional leagues in north-western Bulgaria, only three meet the standards required for admission to the Bulgarian Third League: FK Tryavna 1922, Levski Brest and Dunav Lom. Play-off matches should be played between these three teams, to establish the two promoted teams. However, no such matches have been played or even scheduled so far, by contrast to what happened in other parts of Bulgaria. This might mean that no play-off matches will be played, probably because one team withdrew.

The final line-up of the 2023-2024 Bulgarian Third League - North-West Group (Severozapadna Treta Liga) will likely be known before the start of the competition, in August.
