Carlos Ramacciotti is back as manager of Cusco FC after less than one month

The club management of Cusco FC found a way to convince Carlos Ramacciotti to come back as manager of the team, after he was sacked less than a month ago, on the 9th of September, following two draws, against Alianza Lima and Academia Cantolao. However, under his command, Cusco FC did not lose a single game, as he was appointed in March, just before the break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the team won three games (one before the pandemic) and drew twice. The results were surprisingly considered as not good enough, although Cusco FC advanced considerably in the table, from the relegation area to a mid-table position.

Carlos Ramacciotti was then replaced by former sporting director, Francisco Melgar, as interim coach. However, despite the good start (a win over Universidad de San Martín), Cusco FC then lost three games and drew twice. The last defeat, 4-0 to Carlos A. Mannucci, was way too much, and it probably determined an already expected change. By calling back Carlos Ramacciotti and his staff, the club management indirectly recognized the error they made when they sacked him. It is indeed one of the issues of this club that managers are sacked too often, and there are 3 or 4 managers in each year. This is not a way to reach a certain level of performance.
Cusco FC are now 14th in the table and there are three matches left of the Peruvian Apertura (Stage 1)... then the Clausura (Stage 2) will start very soon. The next match is on Saturday afternoon, the 10th of October, against Atlético Grau.
