In the first game they played this season at Alassiouty Sports Resort as their home ground, Fayoum SC won 2-0 over Tamya in the local derby of the Fayoum Governorate in the Second Division B, Group B. In the first half they struggled to score, but did not succeed, and it was 0-0 at half time. However, in the second half they managed to break the deadlock and to win the game, therefore maintaining their second place in the table.
It should be said that Fayoum played their home matches at Alassiouty Sport Resort between 2017 and 2023, because of the works carried out at their own stadium in Fayoum. In summer 2023, they had to switch to the Police Academy (Ittihad El Shorta) Stadium in Cairo, because Alassiouty Sport Resort was no longer available in the second half of 2023 and the beginning of 2024. Today, on the 2nd of March, they have played their first match there since June 2023. Another interesting aspect is that the last Fayoum match at Alassiouty Sport Resort in June last year was also against the same opponent, Tamya, and then they won too, 4-1.
