Cusco FC had a rather simple game against bottom classified Unión Comercio, but things could get nasty for them, because they clearly underestimated the opponent and almost paid for it. The home side started well, with a good shot by Vásquez (2') saved by Barrios, but then the game became boring, with Cusco FC maintaining overall ball possession, mainly in their own half and in midfield. The two sides rarely approached the opposite goal, with an occasional harmless shot from range.

However, Cusco FC had some good opportunities towards the end of the first half. First, Rubén Ramírez missed from very close range after a cross (41'), then Nicolás Silva's shot hit the post (42') and the same Nicolás Silva was denied by goalkeeper Barrios a few minutes later (45').
In the second half, Unión Comercio tried to play better offensively but did not succeed, while Cusco FC pressed hard for a goal, which eventually came. Nicolás Silva crossed from the right side, and Iván Colman headed precisely to the far post: 1-0 (59').
After the goal, the visitors gradually took control of the game, while the home side retreated in defence, but nothing important really happened. VAR was at its worse with a seven-minute wait for a decision which eventually did not change anything. Unión Comercio pushed hard for an equalizer in stoppage time, but Cusco FC resisted and took all the points.
