For 1. FK Svidník, this was one of their few realistic chances to get some points and to move up the table before it is too late. However, the visitors might have thought just the same, as they are themselves in a difficult situation as well, although not as difficult as 1. FK Svidník in terms of relegation.

For the home side, this was also a fresh start from a managing point of view, because manager Jozef Motýl' left the team after their harsh 4-0 defeat away at Stará L'ubovňa Redfox FC and the get the team out of the bottom position where it is practically since the start of the season.

31-year old Jakub Šoltés was brought in as manager, and it looks like he knew what to do, because 1. FK Svidník scored no less than six goals in just one half, which is basically the same number of goals that they scored in their previous six entire games!

The match actually started in a great way for Svidník, as they scored in their first action: Vasil' crossed from the right and Voitiuk pushed the ball in from short range: 1-0 (1'). The home side was not content with just one goal and continued to push for more, Oravec missing two good opportunities (5' and 7'). A few minutes later, Voitiuk led an attack in the centre and passed to his right to Reiter, who controlled and had the time to direct the shot precisely to the far post: 2-0 (12'). Then, Jurč regained a ball in the opposite half, and decisevely assisted Reiter, who scored easily from the box: 3-0 (16').

The visitors had their first reply by means of Hvol'ka, whose beautiful shot from outside the box hit the target: 3-1 (18'). However, goals continued to be scored at the opposite target as well. Voitiuk had a nice run on the left, he passed to the centre to Oufouet, then Vasil' controlled the ball, dribbled and had a good shot: 4-1 (22'). A similar good action by Voitiuk on the left ended with a perfect cross for Oravec's header from short range: 5-1 (30'). The last goal of this match for 1. FK Svidník was actually scored by the visitors themselves. Ondrek passed to his own goalkeeper, Feriančik, who failed to control the ball properly, and it went in: 6-1 (34'). A horrifying 34 minutes for Tatran Oravské Veselé.

Well, at this score, 1. FK Svidník seemed pleased and turned the engines down a little, allowing the visitors to breathe and to take the match into their own hands. Right before the break, after a corner, Janič scored another beautiful goal with a strong shot from outside the box: 6-2 (44').

And this ended a great first half, with no less than 8 goals scored!

In the second half, things slowed down a bit, and the visitors tried hard to reduce the difference on the score sheet, but were denied by a well-organised Svidník defence, led by goalkeeper Baláž in good form. Both teams made many changes, providing opportunities for other players as well to prove their qualities. In the end, Oravské Veselé scored one more goal, as Kotora headed from close range an excellent cross from the right side: 6-3 (83').

Svidník: Baláž - Vasil', Grejták, Ducár, Balica (Lukčo 46') - Jurč (Leško 63'), Oufouet (Gajdoš 83') - Šul'ák (Klučár 70'), Oravec (Hoponko 83'), Voitiuk - Reiter. Manager: Jakub Šoltés.

Oravské Veselé: Feriančik - Danovský (Liška 63'), Mráz, Šmihel' (Lanko 85'), Hvol'ka, Kmet, Ondrek, Mazanovský (Stašák 85'), Dopater (Kuchárik 18'), Kotora (Baláž 85'), Janič. Manager: Stanislav Ruman.

Referee: Jaroslav Sučka.

Yellow cards: Ducár 86' - Danovský 59', Mráz 90'.

This win is gold for 1. FK Svidník, which are no longer bottom in the table and have some hope to avoid relegation one more time.
