Al Wasta - Fayoum 2-1 (1-0)
Hamada Ahmed Ali 45', Abdel Moaty Mohamed 90' (penalty) - Ashraf Mohamed 59'.
Monday, 28 October 2024, Al Wasta Stadium, Beni Suef, 4th round of the Egyptian Second Division B, Group B.
After a good 2023-2024 season, in which they finished second in the table, losing only one match for the whole season, Fayoum SC started the 2024-2025 season with three consecutive defeats and are now last in the table.
The new manager, Fouad Salama, and his team have not yet succeeded to collect a single point so far, despite being very close to it, such as in this away match against Al Wasta, when the game was actually decided by a last minute penalty in favour of the home side. However, it must be mentioned that last season Fayoum had no problems in winning against Al Wasta, while this time the home side pressed more for the three points while Fayoum looked more content with the draw.
Al Wasta had some luck as well, because they scored the first goal right before half time, by means of Hamada Ahmed Ali: 1-0 (45').
In the second half, Fayoum SC searched and found the equalizer after just 14 minutes, by means of Ashraf Mohamed: 1-1 (59').
Al Wasta pressed more in the final minutes of the game and were awarded a penalty in the last minute of the game, converted by Abdel Moaty Mohamed: 2-1 (90').
This was the first win for Al Wasta this season, and their owner, Nasser Al Saidi, offered 10000 Egyptian pounds after the game ended as a reward for the three points.
Fayoum remains last with no points.
