Fayoum SC lost 3-1 away to Asyut Petroleum and are mathematically relegated to the Third Division

Thursday, the 1st of October 2020, 3 pm local time (12 noon UTC), Asyut University Stadium, Asyut, Egypt, the 20th round of the Egyptian Second Division, Group A.
Fayoum SC suffered the third consecutive defeat, 3-1 away at Asyut Petroleum since the Egyptian Second Division resumed and they are now officially relegated. Even a win in this match would not have helped, as their direct opponents won, and the fight to avoid relegation seems to be now a reduced one in the remaining two rounds. The only hope for them to remain in the Second Division is that the Egyptian FA might change the rules regarding relegation in this season, badly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beni Suef lost surprisingly the local derby against Telephonat, so the match against National Bank in the next round will probably decide the team to promote to the Premier League.
