The football team of Fayoum SC has ended the preparations for the upcoming season of the Egyptian Second Division, whose start is programmed for Thursday, 9 August 2018. Before the start of the season, the administrative and technical staff, together with the new head coach, Wael Al Qabbani, has concluded a number of transfers, necessary for the very difficult task of promoting to the Premier League and even for the maintenance in the Second Division, given the fact that only the first team in each group will promote (just like before) and only the teams classified 2-7 (out of 14) in each group will remain in the future one-pool Egyptian Second Division after 2019.
Goalkeeper Ahmed Al-Beheiri has been transferred from fellow Group A side, Telephonat Beni Suef, replacing the former goalkeeper, Amr Shaban, who left the team. Another goalkeeper who joined the team is Omar Jaber, who was transferred from Kafr El-Sheikh. He is the brother of Mustafa Jaber, former Fayoum goalkeeper. Winger Hossam Ayman has been transferred from Beni Suef for two seasons. Karim Sayed, also coming from Beni Suef, has signed for Fayoum SC. Left back Ahmed Zizou, after some time spent at Suez, came back to Fayoum SC. Another former player, playmaker Mohamed Refaat, has returned to Fayoum SC and signed for two seasons after a free transfer. The same happened to Ahmed Zaki, who came back to Fayoum after a period spent at Sohag. Playmaker Badr Ibrahim from the National Bank has also signed for Fayoum SC for the next two seasons. Another left back, Ahmed Qenaoui "Timor", has been freely transferred from Telephonat Beni Suef. Mustafa Abu Risha has signed a contract with Fayoum SC for the next two seasons.

The new players have been integrated with the rest of the team. Many of the previous players have renewed their contracts, such as Mohamed Mahmoud, Mahmoud Al-Husseini or Mustafa Arnub. Other important players have left but the club officials seem optimistic before the start of the season.
The team has played 12 friendly matches in pre-season and spent more than a week of intensive training near Giza. Wael Qabbani, the head coach, said that he was satisfied with the achievements of the team in pre-season period and the newly-transferred players.
The first official match for Fayoum SC in the 2018-2019 will be played on Thursday, 9 August 2018, at 17:30, against Aluminium at the Alassiouty Sports Complex, in the first round of the Second Division, Group A.
