Fayoum SC registered three consecutive defeats before this home game against Media, and such a negative run always causes a certain amount of stress and anxiety among players and staff. Therefore, a positive result was quite necessary for manager Saeed Sobhi and his players, to gain strength once again, and to improve the moral of a team which changed quite significantly compared to the first half of the season.

The match was utterly disputed, and both teams had chances to score. Fayoum SC insisted more in the attack, but were unable to break the deadlock, and therefore the match ended with a goalless draw.
It is hard to say if this point brings any satisfaction to either of the two teams. It is more than nothing though. Fayoum SC therefore closed the run of defeats, while Media needs every point to stay out of the relegation area. The bad news for Fayoum is that they are only six points away from the relegation area, despite being in sixth position. Their next match away at Sohag might be very important for both teams, as the struggle to avoid relegation intensifies. In the next round, Media will play a very difficult game at home against Aluminium.
