The two teams were in very different situations before the game. With their new manager, Alaa Ibrahim, Dayrout had a positive run in the last three games, with two wins and one away draw. On the other hand, Fayoum, while changing (again) the manager, with Essam Khairallah in this position, is still trying to get out of a negative run which started some time ago, iuncluding three consecutive defeats and one home draw in the last four games.

The game was very much disputed, because both teams are in need of points: Dayrout would like to try to reach the sixth place, which give the opportunity to become involved in the play-off, while Fayoum are only a few points away from relegation.
The home side, Dayrout SC, insisted more and succeeded to score the first goal, by means of Mohamed Sami: 1-0 (28').
The visitors tried to get an equalizer and had some chances, including a big one, when the ball was cleared from the goal line by a Dayrout defender.

While Fayoum started the second half thinking about the equalizer, Dayrout profited from the large space in the opponents' defence and scored the second goal by Mo'azilo Leva: 2-0 (57').
The visitors continued to attack for the rest of the game, without any success, as Dayrout defence resisted bravely.
