Another defeat for OFK Tryavna, 2-1 at home against OFK Pavlikeni

Sunday, 25 April 2021, 5 pm local time (2 pm UTC), Angel Kanchev Stadium, Tryavna, Bulgaria, the 29th round of the Bulgarian Third League, North-West Group (Severozapadna Treta Liga).

There is no surprise anymore that OFK Tryavna lost another match, this time at home. The surprise would have been for them to win at least a point, and they were not that far this time.

OFK Pavlikeni dominated almost the whole game, but underestimated their opponent, and treated carelessly the numerous chances they had. The home side, however, proved more efficient and scored after one of the few goal opportunities they had, as Vesko Karakolev sent the ball home from inside the box after a set piece: 1-0 (44').

In the second half, the situation was very much the same, with OFK Pavlikeni trying hard to equalize, but missing lots of chances, while Tryavna defended well. However, in the last 15 minutes, Pavlikeni did succeed to turn the result in their favour. First, Georgi Hristov headed home from inside the box: 1-1 (76'). Then, Simeon Ivanov scored for Pavlikeni, but the referee cancelled the goal for offside. The winning goal eventually came in the end: Krasen Trifonov crossed, the ball took a slight deflection, and Tihomir Trifonov scored: 1-2 (85').
