Fayoum SC lost 2-0 away at Asyut Cement in the Egyptian Second Division

Sunday, 11 April 2021, 3.30 pm local time (1.30 pm UTC), Cement Club Stadium, Asyut, Egypt, the 21st round of the Egyptian Second Division, Group A.

Fayoum SC continue their negative run in the league, losing 2-0 away at Asyut Cement, one of the weakest teams in the group. However, despite their winless run in the first half of the season, Asyut Cement recorded their third consecutive win at home since the start of the second half of the season, and even have some hopes to save themselves from relegation. Both goals were scored by Mohamed Eid, in the 16th and 88th minutes of the match.

For Fayoum SC, this defeat comes after a series of other negative results and events, except for the away win at Shaban Qena. They are now only three points above the relegation line, and may get below that line in just one or two rounds, while there are still nine matches to be played. Good results are badly needed and the club managers and the technical staff need to find the best solutions to secure a place in the Second Division for yet another year. It is a pity to say that this sort of discourse has been heard almost every year, and the team has to struggle again to escape relegation.

There is a large break, more than one month, before the next round, and this period should be used properly.
