Claudio Vivas is the new manager of Cusco FC

Not long after sacking former manager Carlos Ramacciotti, Cusco FC announced the name of the new manager: Claudio Vivas. Because the sacking of Ramacciotti was not followed by any announcement regarding an interim manager, it was obvious that the name of the new manager was already known or the negotiations with a new manager were quite advanced.

Claudio Vivas, an Argentinian like Ramacciotti, played as a goalkeeper but started early his career as manager, initially as assistant manager for a number of Argentinian teams. He became famous as Marcelo Bielsa's assistant manager, for Argentina national football team (1998-2004) and more recently for Athletic Bilbao (2011-2013) in the Spanish La Liga.

His experience so far in Peru is mainly linked with Sporting Cristal, where he was full manager in the second half of 2013 and in 2019.

Most recently, he was manager of Club Bolívar, one of the most important football clubs in Bolivia.

On 22 April, he was officially appointed as manager of Cusco FC, and the next day, 23 April, a press conference was organized, during which he presented his collaborators.

Claudio Vivas will be helped by Christian Vella (assistant manager), Leonardo Testone (assistant manager), Juan Matías Stampone (goalkeepers' coach) and Diego Ferella (physical trainer).

The next official league match for Cusco FC will be on Monday afternoon, against Sport Huancayo.
