Fayoum SC still has hopes of survival in the Second Division after surprising 1-1 draw away at leaders Aswan

On Thursday, 28 March 2019, Fayoum SC had a very difficult away game at leaders Aswan. Both teams needed the points, as Aswan want to become sure of promotion to the Premier League while Fayoum are struggling to remain in the Second Division.
The goals were scored early in the game. Aswan opened the score by penalty in the 7th minute by Sila while Fayoum equalized 10 minutes later by means of Mahmoud Abu Bakr.
The home side generally dominated and tried to get the winning goal, but Fayoum defended well and responded on counter-attacks.
Neither team succeeded to score another goal, so the match ended 1-1.
It is a very good result for Fayoum, but they need to win the next matches in order to have a chance to remain in the Second Division. There are 3 rounds to go and 3 points between Fayoum and Al Nasr Lel Taa'den, their closest opponent in the table, above the relegation line.

Bad start in 2019 for 1. FK Svidník and their new head coach, Alojz Lehocký

The Slovakian 3. Liga - Východ (East) Group started over with the games of the 18th round, played on Saturday, 23 March, and Sunday, 24 March. After a long winter break, 1. FK Svidník played away at last classified, ŠK Milénium 2000 Bardejovská Nová Ves. However, the pressure on the teams in the lower part of the table has reduced significantly because Tatran Prešov B withdrew, leaving the competition with just 14 teams instead of the usual 16 and it is quite possible that no teams will be relegated to 4. Liga.

1. FK Svidník played on Saturday morning and had an awful game, losing 4-0, certainly not the result that any new head coach dreams about. So, after Ľubomír Horochonič left without any publicly known reason, the new head coach is Alojz Lehocký. The visitors managed the game very well in the first 15 minutes, when they had three clear chances to score, but missed. The home side then took control of the game and solved the issue in the second part of the first half and the beginning of the second half. Goals were scored by Adam Gdul'a (30'), Tomaš Kendra (42') - after a huge error of the goalkeeper Adam Mikluš, as well as by former Svidník players, Ladislav Stachura (50') and Robert L'alík (56) on the counter-attack. Towards the end of the game, the visitors had a game several goal-scoring opportunies and even claimed a penalty, not given by the referee Maličký.

Teams:
Bardejovská Nová Ves: Mašlej – Imrich, Gerčák, Kyjak, Kendra (72 Sosňak) - Tuch, Pangrác-Piter, L. Stachura, Š. Stachura (77 Vasiliak) - Ľalík (65 Šimco), A. Gduľa (77 Macečko). Head coach: František Šott.
1. FK Svidník: Mikluš - Lipák, Zápotocký, Rohulskyi, Čabala (70 Petrik) - Ducár, Goncharevich, Nemergut (53 Horbaj), M. Matkobiš (70. Jačisko) - Š. Košč, Losiev (51 O. Gduľa). Head coach: Alojz Lehocký.
One of the obvious issues of 1. FK Svidník is that they have a very young and inexperienced team, as several good and experienced players have left during the winter break. Head coach Alojz Lehocký needs time to put up a good team at this level and it will be difficult for them to remain in the upper half of the table in the remaining rounds.
In the next round, 1. FK Svidník will play this weekend at home against another lower classified team which shows signs of recovery, MFK Slovan Giraltovce. It is a local derby, much expected by the fans of both teams.
The table has been adjusted, as all Tatran Prešov B results have been cancelled.
