Fayoum SC lost at home 1-0 to Beni Suef and relegation is near

On Thursday afternoon, the 4th of April, Fayoum SC played at home against second classified Beni Suef in a match that was decisive mainly for the home side, as the visitors had only mathematical chances to catch up leaders Aswan, and these chances were shattered after this round as Aswan won 2-1 away at Al Nasr Lel Taa'den and promoted to the Egyptian Premier League with two rounds to go.

However, at Alassiouty Stadium, Fayoum was unable to win the game and to increase their chances of survival in the Egyptian Second League. Beni Suef were in control of the game in the first half and managed to score in the 42nd minute by Sayed Shaaban, who headed the ball into the net.

Fayoum tried hard to equalize in the second half but to no avail, so their chances of survival are now slim and may become null after the next round if they lose away to Sohag. The only team they fight with for survival is Al Nasr Lel Taa'den, which will play away at Beni Suef the next round/
