Postponed matches rescheduled in November, rounds 16 and 17 to be played in spring in the Slovak Third League - East Group

The COVID-19 pandemic emerged again at higher levels throughout Slovakia and sporting activities, including football, are impacted once again. Since the second half of September, a number of matches in the Slovak Third League - East Group had to be postponed due to COVID-19 issues, affecting several teams. More recently, entire districts entered a new stage of the pandemic and sporting activities in these districts are prohibited.

Therefore, the Eastern Slovakia Football Federation, which is the main organizer of the Slovak Third League - East Group, and the lower Fourth and Fifth League in Eastern Slovakia, decided to postpone the matches of rounds 16 and 17, initially scheduled to take place in November, for the spring of 2022. These dates will be used in an attempt to reschedule all the matches already postponed in the first half of the season (up until round 15), so that the winter break would come when all the matches of the first half of the season are played.

Last year (2020-2021), the season ended after just half the season was played, and the results were deemed final, allowing for promotion and relegation, due to new rules approved and implemented during the pandemic. This year, in case that all matches of the first half of the season are played, the table at winter break might remain final if no matches can be played in spring.

1. FK Svidník are in the worst situation, both in the table (as they are last, with no points whatsoever) and have the highest number of postponed matches - 3, which will have to be played in November 2021.
