On Thursday, the 1st of November, Fayoum SC had the easiest away match this season, at least on paper, as they met Naser Mallawi, newly-promoted and last classified, a team that has not won any match so far in the first 8 rounds, recording 2 draws and 6 defeats.

The visitors had their head coach, Barakat Ibrahim, in the stands, as he was sent off in the previous game against Dayrout. However, Fayoum controlled much of the game and took the lead in the 22nd minute, when Ahmed Abdel Baqi sent the ball into the net with a strong header after a cross from the right side.
The home team struggled much to equalize but Fayoum had the best chances to increase their lead. However, in the 85th minute, Mohammed Trika succeeded to score for the home team, apparently after a hand ball that was not noticed by the referee, but strongly contested by the visitors.
The final minutes were very disputed. In the 89th minute, Fayoum took the lead again by Ahmed Saleh, who replaced injured Mohamed Refaat earlier in the game.
In stoppage time, Naser Mallawi equalized again, this time by Haytham Fathi: 2-2, the final score, a rather disappointing one for Fayoum, which remains in the relegation area of the table.
There will be a new break for teams in the Egyptian Second Division, as the 10th round will only be played on Thursday 22nd of November, three weeks after. Fayoum will play then at home against Aswan, the main favorites for promotion to the Egyptian Premier League.
