1. FC Tatran Presov surprisingly held at home by 1. FK Svidnik: 2-2 in the 8th round of the Slovakian 3. Liga - East

Saturday, the 7th of September 2019, 15:30 local time (13:30 UTC), Tatran Stadium, Presov, Slovakia, eighth round of the Slovakian 3. Liga - East.
Big surprise at Presov, as favourites 1. FC Tatran Presov were unable to win at home over 1. FK Svidnik. The visitors came to Presov to show that last week harsh defeat, 4-0 at Mladost' Kalsa, was an accident and should be soon forgotten. Despite many absent players (Cekan, Kuhajdik, Ducar, the Hricov brothers, to name just a few), but with goalkeeper Adam Miklus back in the starting XI, 1. FK Svidnik succeeded to get an unexpected point due to a double by Stefan Kosc (53' and 57'), who seemed to regain the strength and pace of the last year in attack.
The home side scored first, very early, by means of Peter Lupco, with a precise shot from outside the area (1-0, 4'), but then they probably considered this to be enough to secure the three points. They had many chances throughout the first half but missed all of them, including a shot from inside the area to the near post, in the last minute of the first half.
After the break, the shocking double by Kosc put Svidnik in front, 2-1. First, on a counterattack, Krizanovski passed to Kosc on the right side and his splendid left-footed shot "a la Del Piero" sent the ball in the upper left corner of the goal: 1-1 (53'). A few minutes later, after the ball was regained in the opposite half, the same Krizanovsky passed again to Kosc on the right side, and this time he came closer in the area, and his low shot at the near post surprised Vincler: 1-2 (57'). Svidnik's advantage lasted only for a few minutes, because Vincent Kopin equalized right after he came in as a substitute, after a cross from the right and a successful dribling in the area: 2-2 (61'). Tatran Presov struggled a lot to score the winning goal, but the visitors' defense resisted heroically, to the huge disappointment of Tatran fans.
Tatran Presov: Vincler - Simko, Sabolcik (Kopin 60'), Kral'ovic, Kolbas (Rodrigues 88'), Macej, Hirka, Grejtak, Lupco, Ivanecky, Pavuk (Stropkay 75'). Head coach: Peter Petras.
1. FK Svidnik: Miklus - Bialoncik, Zapotocky, Cabala, Kisel'a - Krizanovsky, Maslov, Elias, Veprik, S. Kosc (Hanak 90') - Pil'ar (Horbaj 90'). Head coach: Tomas Elias (who actually played); assistant coach: Robert Petrus.
Referee: Oliver Suba.
Yellow cards: Grejtak 31', Macej 33', Simko 72' - Veprik 33'.
In the next round, Tatran Presov will play away at FK NOVES Spisska Nova Ves, momentarily the last classified. The Presov team needs to win if they want to remain close to the group of teams fighting for promotion. 1. FK Svidnik will also play an important game, at home, against Pokrok SEZ Krompachy, which they also need to win, to stay away from the relegation area.
