It was therefore clear from the very beginning that the visitors would claim the three points. However, the home side started better and had a few chances in the first ten minutes, Alex Zgriparov missing a good chance after a great pass by Vasil Andreev (3'). The first serious attack of the visitors ended up in a goal, as Iskren Pisarov overtook Tsanko Slavov and scored from inside the area: 0-1 (12').

The goal demoralized the Tryavna team and the visitors gained full control of the game. Stefan Ivanov's goal (15') was disallowed but eventually Plamen Kozhuharov doubled the lead for Gabrovo with a great shot from just outside the area: 0-2 (30'). Vasil Andreev's shot was saved by Hristo Lalev (32') but then again the visitors had chances, as Plamen Kozhuharov's shot hit the side post (33'). A few minutes later, Hristo Tsonev scored with a beautiful header from inside the area after a corner executed by Plamen Kozhuharov: 0-3 (37').

The game was pretty much over at this score, so the Gabrovo team rather reduced their level of play in the second half, therefore allowing the home side to attack more and more. Deyan Vladimirov's strong shot was saved by Hristo Lalev (72') The referee awarded a penalty for the home side, after a foul by Hristo Tsonev at Aleksandar Damyanov inside the area. The same Damyanov executed and gave Tryavna fans a short moment of joy: 1-3 (82'). In the final moments of the game, OFK Tryavna were close to a second goal, but Vasil Andreev's shot hit the side post (90').
